Naval Observatory to become Palin-drome?

John McCain has announced his choice for running mate, and it’s Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Prolife social conservative NRA member and soon to officially be the first female Republican nominee to the U.S. vice-presidency, Palin graduated in 1987 from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism, was a beauty queen and later mayor of her home town of Wasilla, AK before being elected to governor in 2006.

This completely undercuts the “inexperience” attacks against Obama, but, hey, if she gets to Veep and McCain keels over, she could be a real-life Laura Roslin, with chamalla extract references and all. More on Sarah Palin from US News. Moose stew!

(If you groaned at the title of this post, blame Tom.)

Roving Asian mendicant, can occasionally be seen wandering the streets of downtown Washington, muttering unintelligible gibberish to passers-by while pushing a “bag lady” shopping cart full of old blankets, American flags, soda cans, and healthy secondhand snacks from organic food shop dumpsters. Used to live in a cardboard box at 16th and K but the rent was too expensive.

  1. “the first female nominee to the U.S. vice-presidency”

Er, first Republican nominee. Paging Ms. Ferraro.

  2. I recently saw (today)a interview on C-span that was taped on 2-28-08 and when Sarah Palin was asked about her family there she replied that she had 4 children with no mention about her pregnancy or reference to a new addition.
If she is pro life then why would she not mention this when specifically asked. I wonder about this.
