The VA 529 looks good for VA residents with the 2k tax deduction. I just can’t sign up yet, my little guy or gal isn’t born yet :-)

I am concerned with 529s as well. I just had my first child in June and I am a regular reader of Money Magazine. Also, they don't have the article online, but if you could find a hard copy of August 2008, page 34, there is an article entitled, Is a 529 Still the Top College Plan. Overall, I keep hearing Utah as the best plan. But I will let you do your own research.
