Ugh, this is only going to make Rosslyn even more of a FUBAR mess than it usually is. I think I’ll take the following day off as well- I’m not big on the idea of having to fight my way through day-after touristy hordes to get to my office.

Thanks for the reply. Now that I’ve had some time to catch my breath at work this morning, the closings will only make that day crazier for us Arlington residents. I can see people, in an attempt to avoid Metro, trying to park and walk into DC. I need to find some knock-off Inauguration swank and set-up a booth. Anything from Official Inauguration Ponchos, black AND clear trash bags, to Official Inauguration Cameras, CVS brand disposable cameras with a limited hand-drawn Sharpie design, will be available.

Anyone else want in on this money-maker?

According to WTOP, the bridges are being closed to auto traffic, but charter buses and suchlike as well as pedestrians will be allowed.

My Guess, Matt, is that there will be pedestrian traffic permitted, but not auto traffic. I’ll see what I can find in the reports about that, specifically.

Tom, was there mention of the bridges being closed to pedestrians as well? I’m relatively close to the Memorial Bridge and was hoping to use it to get into DC that day.

Maybe this is a sign that I am supposed to sleep in and enjoy the festivities from my couch.
