Spring Sports?

As it starts to get warmer, I know I’m not the only one thinking that I should be getting outside more. I know about the prolific kickball leagues in the area, but are there any regular pickup games that you guys know about and could share? And not just baseball, folks–anyone know where a girl can get her cricket on?

  1. I have seen cricketers at Hains Point on weekend early mornings. I don’t know if there’s anything formal about it, but they sure looked enthusiastic!

  2. I organize a weekly pickup touch football game in D.C.

Since it’s been nice out, we’ve moved from Adams Morgan to the Mall, at 17th and Constitution NW. Let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll add you to the e-mail list.

You can always check out the blog (www.AdMoFootball.blogspot.com) for updates, and later this month, I’ll be moving the info to http://www.mypickupsports.com.

  3. The Washington Area Frisbee Club has Ultimate Frisbee Rec leagues for every season – they even play through the winter! The spring league starts soon and there’s still a couple of days left to register. Rec Leagues are great fun – they mix in experienced players with beginners and everybody focuses on generally having a good time of it.
