First Shakespeare at Carter Barron, now Screen on the Green. My two annual "must do" outdoor DC events gone. Poof into thin air. As with everything else we enjoy that disappears, it's about money.

Rock Creek Park is a national shame, Metro is a transit mismanagement poster child, and our professional baseball experiment is a taxpayer-funded business horror film in which not even the wealthy potential patrons are interested.

With DC taxpayers getting squeezed for more and more money, a totally self-serving DC Council and a surprisingly obnoxious, narcissistic mayor, after 10 years, I'm ready to move on. DC's value as a place to live is going down faster than the economy.

Suggestions for my next place to live ??

It's time for YOU to help save 'Screen on the Green'. Take a minute to send an e-mail to some of the largest regional and national companies in America. To take your stand:

1) Go to http://www.foogli.com/SOTG.html.
2) Try the link; it should open up your e-mail program. Click SEND.
3) If that doesn't work, copy the subject, body, and e-mail addresses (into the BCC line) into your e-mail client and SEND.

No!! This was my favorite summer activity in DC! Is it cancelled completely or just HBO won't be hosting it anymore but someone else will? Maybe they need a government bailout!

You can call the toll-free number above and ask for consumer affairs when the operator comes on at the end. Whether they'll care I can't tell you but you can certainly express your disappointment.
