Caps Iced By Flightless Birds

All teasing aside, I thank the Washington Capitals for a tremendous season and an Eastern Conference Semis series for the ages. Don’t despair, Caps fans. The team’s solid; they’ll be back next year and for many more thereafter. There’s a Cup in their future – just not right now.

So yeah. Don’t you all hate it when I’m right?

Having lived in the DC area for ten years, Ben still loves to wander the city with his wife, shooting lots of photos and exploring all the latest exhibits and galleries. A certified hockey fanatic, he spends some time debating the Washington Capitals club with friends – but everyone knows of his three decade love affair with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

A professional writer, gamer, photographer, and Lego enthusiast, Ben remains captivated by DC and doesn’t plan on leaving any time soon.

  1. Great series up until last night when who knows what happened to the Caps. To undo my bird voodoo promotion, I’m jumping on the vegetarian bandwagon for a weeks to make amends and set up good karma for next season.

  2. You know, as a hockey fan, I feel almost cheated by that game. For six games it was a war, back and forth, wins in each other’s buildings, one-goal games, three times into OT… Game 7 should have been the culmination of all of it, a game for the ages.

Instead, the Caps rolled over and did their best Islanders impression.

Its weird, but I really do feel like hockey fans deserved better.

  3. I think what happened was the graphic CSC showed comparing the Hershey Bears’ series record with that of the Caps. After that, it all went downhill.
