Indian Food, in a Truck, with Moustaches

I’m immensely intrigued and amused by the newly discovered Fojol Brothers of Merlindia, a “travelling culinary carnival.” The Fojol Brothers are dudes wearing strange get-ups and (fake?) handlebar moustaches in an ice cream truck tricked out to serve preservative-free Indian food. There’s a variety of veggie and meaty options to top some basmati rice. Also, all of their eating implements are biodegradable  and they donate a percentage of their proceeds to help at-risk youths in DC. How do you find this mobile meal machine? Follow the Fojol Brothers on Twitter, duh. I mean, how does anyone do business these days?

Acacia has lived in DC since graduating from Vassar College with degrees in English and Italian. She cries daily at the thought of her imminent departure from this beloved city, as she will begin a Fulbright teaching grant in the Campania region, Italy come October. She’ll be blogging that experience too. Get at her: acaciaO@welovedc.com or follow her on twitter.

  1. I saw them in Dupont last weekend! They waved and honked their horn as they drove through. Had they stopped, you’d better believe I would have paid.

  2. Hey Acacia, how about a link to their Twitter page in the article, hmmmmmm? Some of your readers are rully lazy.

  3. Man, I love this citizen journalism thing. So responsive! Arianna Huffington was right.

  4. Had my first taste of Fojol Bros last weekend. Delicious street food, nice guys.
