Sadly, I stayed there over Mother's Day weekend and was sorely disappointed. Not just because I preferred the character of the old hotel (the Irish theme extended beyond Biddy Mulligan's pub), but the room layouts were very strange; there was very little space between the foot of the beds and the wall separating the "bedroom" from the bathroom (one and a half to two feet at most). The design scheme looks like any other "contemporary" decor, with nothing really special to recommend it (and the beds definitely don't look like the photo in this piece). And how about the $60/person Mother's Day brunch? (We went across the street to Afterwords and had too much food for $30 total.)

I will say that the beds were very comfy, and the "bath amenities" were very nice. And if you can knock $100 off the rate per night, maybe it's worth it. I would not recommend paying full price.
