You Should Go, Now.

So I rarely do this, just put up a post swooning about a restaurant, with nothing particularly newsworthy to announce. But ya’ll, the new Glover Park eat place Blue Ridge is GOOD, and that is news enough. Blue Ridge is affordable, casual, with entrees around the $12 price point, and with great service, and a lovely patio, it is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It’s time for you to get your rear in gear and visit.

With a heavy-focus on southern (and the sweet potato in particular), I loved every single thing I tasted. The house-made bacon stood WAY out as my new favorite bacon in the city. I loved the sweet potato fritters, as well as the root beer float I had for dessert. I tried the trout and the fried green tomato BLT, and will food dream about them both. I’m sure you’ll be hard pressed to find something you don’t like on the menu.

The drink list is well thought out, with a heavy focus on affordable house wines served in a cafe glass. I tried both house whites and liked them. So, what are you waiting for?! Go, now!

  1. On the advice of my roommate I tried this place out last night. Afraid of a sudden t-storm we sat inside, instead of on the adorable back garden, so we got to gaze at cute quilts as we noshed. The food was really good. I would have rather had the yummy chicken potpie or burger then my order of meatloaf that was under seasoned, but the strawberry rhubarb pie (was that ginger? lemon ?) and the AMZIANG sweet potato fritters are well worth another trip.
