Which cast member of the Real World DC was just hired at Tony & Joe’s along the Georgetown waterfront?  Can’t reveal our sources, but all signs point to lame reality service industry drama (with some horrible Matchbox 20 song played over it).

  1. Can’t reveal your sources? In order to have a source, doesn’t a story have to contain some piece of information? All I see in this story is a question without an answer. In that sense, the story serves as an apt metaphor for Sean McGlynn’s life.

  2. This is a perfect instance where a “journalist shield law” of some sort could work serve a legitimate purpose. Until then, however, I demand you reveal them or expect a subpoena.

  3. Indeed, the parallels between this story and what Judith Miller did on Iraq, WMDs, Valerie Plame and Scooter Libby are striking. A special prosecutor is probably necessary. Is Archibald Cox still alive?

  4. My question is a simple one, but I’d prefer not to reveal it: W___ _h__ e__ ____, ____a, ____d?

  5. Also, I don’t think Matchbox 20 has ever recorded a song that can be fairly described as “horrible.” Is that editorial opinion, or was it learned from this unidentified “source?”

  6. I’m not sure that I would have abbreviated Matchbox 20. Frankly, I would have used their full name: “Matchbox 21 – Matchbox 1”

  7. If we can go back to comment number 2, I’d like to mention that I’ve always felt uncomfortable with the word subpoena. It has always reminded me of “sub-penis,” which I think is a pretty terrifying concept.

  8. The only lingering concern I have is regarding the name “Tony & Joe’s” as I’m sure you meant “Anthony & Joseph’s.” Even if you did mean “Anthony & Joseph’s,” I could imagine a situation where someone would ask for directions to “Anthony & Joseph’s” and the person would say, “you mean Tony & Joe’s?” and the other person would say, “yeah, I mean Tony & Joe’s.”

  9. Now that I think about it, the title of this posting is bizarre. This is a blog about DC, right? So why is everyone so concerned about tipping a bartender from Ur. I don’t even think Ur exists anymore. I think God rained salt and sulfur all over the city back in the Old Testament, right before God promised Israel to the Jews for all time.

  10. I will say that the best sentence in the entire post was this:

“Which cast member of the Real World DC was just hired at Tony & Joe’s along the Georgetown waterfront? Can’t reveal our sources, but all signs point to lame reality service industry drama (with some horrible Matchbox 20 song played over it).”

Beautiful diction, elegant execution, and wonderful cadence.

  11. My guess is that “Tom Bridge” is either a huge fan of Judge Judy or someone who believes that by watching “My Cousin Vinny” qualifies one as a lawyer. That is my only explanation for the drivel that he felt the need to share with everyone.

  12. I always thought MTV’s Road Rules was a much better show than the Real World. Although I do like how the Real World shoots each season in a single city. It would be awesome if MTV could combine the two, like if they did a Road Rules where the cast just did all their missions in Adam’s Morgan.

  13. I’ve often thought the hardest question for a Real World cast member would be, “who was the 34th President?” That way, if they said “Dwight D. Eisenhower” I could say, “exactly right.”

  14. I never understood why Grover Cleveland got to be both the 22nd and the 24th president. I always felt there was something unconstitutional about that.

  16. It’s hard for me to imagine a more perfect, better phrased sentence that what Tiffany had to say. Beautiful job.

  17. If I were to rank the comments on this posting in order of those which added the most to those which added the least, first place would go to Tiffany. Last place would go to Don, for comment #13. In competition with Don would be Becca, for the original posting.
