It is commutes like this that make me glad that I started driving in to work. That, and the bass-ackward commute that required me to take a train to Metro Center in order to reach my job in Northern VA. In the morning, I was on a wonderful train car with no A/C. Cheverly to Metro Center is a 35-40 minute ride; I was soaked with sweat when I got into my office. And then going home at night was that major delay at Stadium Armory. So I hated Metro yesterday. And I know how you feel.
