emvii on twitter has alerted us to the fact that Pedro and Vinny’s, which was reviewed in Katie’s recent food cart roundup, is now open for business on the corner of 19th and L NW! More food carts in DC is awesome. I wish they would be on every corner offering food from all over! Why are they always so good? I’m not talking about dirty water dogs. Burritos, halal meat, Korean BBQ? Y-u-m. If you work in the 19th and L area, go check out Pedro and Vinny’s. You won’t be disappointed.

Karl is a Washingtonian who lives and breathes everything that is DC. Politics, ethnic restaurants, sad sports teams, the Metro and pretty much anything in between. Karl’s life is kind of like going to a Nats’ game while eating Ethiopian food and discussing the latest legislation to pass the House. Then cramming on the Metro for a ride home. That ’bout sums it up. See why Karl loves DC or check him out on Twitter.

  1. I’m confused. Does this mean he won’t be at 15th and K anymore?

There’s also a second Korean cart at Vermont and K that serves kimbap and dumplings as well as the usual meat+kimchi+rice fare (which is awesome as well).

  2. This goes along so nicely with several of our DF articles at the moment. I was having a Katie-“WHAT AM I GOING TO EAT FOR LUNCH?”-angst moment, when I realized: “I WORK AT 19th and L!”

I just went and checked out the new Pedro and Vinny’s cart. It’s run by the owner’s daughter who now has her own full time cart open from 11-2 M-F right on the corner by Staples. I had a chance to chat with the new owner, who is super proud to have had a great first day!

I’m currently devouring an AWESOME burrito. Sorry, wish I could share…

  3. Yes, sorry for the confusion. There are TWO of them now. Cathy, did you mention the writeup in WeLoveDC to them?
