Still awaiting confirmation on the story, but NBC Washington is reporting that several people were locked in the Van Dorn Metro station last night. Apparently the station manager had locked up the facility before the last train had arrived; it took the people 45 minutes to get someone to let them out.

If true, it’s just yet another great PR story for Metro. What a way to celebrate the renewal of Catoe’s contract!

  1. Don’t the station managers read the display showing when the next train arrives? Here’s a hint- if it says there’s another train, don’t lock the station. Seriously, who the hell are these people Metro hires?

…I don’t even want to get into Catoe’s extension. That one blows my mind.

  2. Where did the station manager go? I thought the manager was to leave by the last train. I guess not. I would have called the fire department and have them get me out, they can call metro police to guard it until someone came.
