Kirk: I’ll be starting this weekend off with drinks at Gibson. It’s time to bust out the winter cocktails, which generally means some form of whiskey drink that contains no ice. I like drinks like that. On Saturday, I’m going to try to rediscover some of the Smithsonian Museums. It’s been a good while since I’ve been inside any of them, and, considering how great they are, that’s a real shame. Other than that, I’ll just be spending time with friends and bumming around the house.

Katie: You know what has been missing in my life? Brunch, that’s what. So I’m going to brunch it out this weekend. I’ll be heading to both Co Co Sala and Et Voila! for brunch. Co Co Sala has french toast s’mores (what?!) and Et Voila! has divine to-die-for quiche. In addition to brunching my face off, Cathy and I are going to be cooking up a storm with chef Victor Albisu at BLT Steak for a new Capital Chefs feature. Keep an eye out for it! Maybe I’ll even take a break from eating to go see the second half of Angels in America in Silver Spring. I loved the first half so much that I’ve been anxiously awaiting Perestroika at the Forum Theater. The cast is brilliant and that play is absolutely breathtaking.

Carl: This is a busy weekend for me. Friday night and Saturday I will be going through the initiation to become a Shriner and then enjoying a dinner and dance Saturday night with my lovely wife. No, I will not be issued a funny little car, although that would be really cool. On Sunday I will visit my friend Bruce, who is recovering from an illness, and then if everything works out, having coffee with my friend Jeff, who is a really great guy and an excellent photographer.

Jenn: I’ve been sick the whole week, and it’s got me super irritated. Time for action! Friday I’m starting back up with the reformer at Pure Joe Pilates Studio, sculpting my poor body on that strange medieval torture device. If I can still walk, that night I’m going to the Slumberland Records 20th Anniversary concert at Black Cat. Saturday’s all about laziness, then hitting Sou’Wester to try Carlton McCoy’s cocktails. Must remember – don’t push it, still recouperating…

Tiff: This is my last weekend in town before taking off for a sunny, tropical vacation, so I’m sure some part of my weekend will be dedicated to errand-running and housecleaning. But I’ll also be running a Ravenchase At Your Leisure treasure hunt designed for seeing the sights around DC with some friends. Oh yeah, and cooking a turkey. Because I’m spending Thanksgiving in a place where turkey is non-indigenous.

Don: After spending last weekend traipsing around Charlottesville – doing some apple picking and Monticello-touring, in fact – this is a low key weekend near home. Which isn’t quite the same as doing nothing, since there’s a few outings on our radar. Studio Theater’s Adding Machine: A Musical is wrapping this weekend and I’m anything that makes me say “really, THAT’S a musical?” makes me inclined to check it out. Maybe try to finally go see the butterfly pavilion in the Museum of Natural History. Or perhaps I’ll buy myself a copy of Modern Warfare 2 and spend some time in the city without leaving my couch….

Tom: This weekend is about decompression. This has been a crazy week that has not stopped running, so this weekend is the antidote. Saturday, we’ll be engaging in slow food, with a cooking a nice dinner for friends and preparing our condo for home improvement. Sunday, we’re meeting with some friends in Lafayette Park to investigate a mysterious clue they received in the mail, and to celebrate a birthday.

Donna: On Saturday morning, I’ll go learn how to bug my lawmakers about going green. The weather’s supposed to clear on Sunday, making it a great day for a run near the river, or to poke around downtown, maybe at DC’s first Tweed Ride, where folks dress up in old-fashioned clothes and bike seven miles to raise money for Arts in the Aging, or to check out the last weekend of The New Age of Chocolate at the U.S. Botanic Garden. I’ll also be catching up, perhaps at Columbia Firehouse, with a long-time friend also named Donna…what are the chances?
