I think this seems like a great project. I can only add that I had a terrible personal experience attempting to volunteer with the Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capital - the very Girl Scout Council of which I had been a brownie & girl scout in my girlhood (dorky, perhaps, but true!)

After getting an email looking for women to participate in various projects, I said "sure!" - After that, I was never assigned to a project, and nobody responded to repeated emails and calls saying "hey, I'M the one offering to help YOU here..." Finally, I gave up and asked to just be taken off the list - a request they never complied with and instead just increased the rate of spam until I blocked them.

Volunteer management is not an easy thing, I understand, but it seemed disrespectful. How hard should I really have to work in order to do some fun volunteer work with the girl scouts?
