The Georgetowner is petitioning local photographers to submit their finest Georgetown images for a chance to win the front cover of the 2010 publication.

Shutterbugs can submit up to five photographs by  Sunday, December 20, 2009. Send submissions to photography@georgetowner.com

  1. I hate contests where the “prize” is you letting them use your photo for free. Lame! I’m not going to bother entering unless there’s a fair compensation.

  2. I am also leery of photo contests like these. They often have some small print that says that they own the photo and can use and SUBMITTED photos in the future whenever and however they like. This is fine for some and not so fine for others.

    Before a photographer friendly blog like this pimps their contest I think they should ask the Georgetowner to publish their small print.

  3. Quite right; the bastards want you to hand over the keys no questions “All photographs submitted will become the property of Georgetown Media Group to print and publish.”
