Friday night I had the opportunity to attend The Art of the Blog at District in Adams Morgan.  Hosted by Ready Set DC, The Art of the Blog is a new, monthly get together for bloggers across the nation’s capital.  With a focus on ‘neighborhood blogs’ this month, the special guest speakers – Dan Silverman of Prince of Petworth & David Garber of And Now, Anacostia – both shared candid interpretations of what it’s like to be a DC blogger.  Taking questions from attendees, nothing was off topic for the speakers – adding to what was turned out to be an overall relaxed, yet still informational, atmosphere for the evening.  I thought the event was a great success and most importantly a ton of fun.  I am already looking forward to the event next month, which I hear will highlight the district’s blogging fashionistas.

Also, a big thanks to the special guests of the evening who gave We Love DC a nice shout out when asked what DC blogs they both read.

The Art of the Blog is an open event for bloggers, readers and anyone in between. Look for the next event to be announced here.

Samantha can often be found daydreaming by the Rothkos of the East Gallery, sketching store facades along 14th, and snapping photos with her vintage polaroid at 9:30 club concerts. Since moving to DC in 2007 to get an MFA in Interior Design, her eyes can’t seem to be peeled away from the beautiful things in this city.
