Turn Old Jeans Into Insulation for Habitat

Our friend Erin from Unclutterer pointed out this excellent campaign from MoCo Professional Organizer Scott Roewer to collect a bunch of blue jeans. Got a pair of well-loved, but in need of retirement blue jeans? Donate them to Scott, who will turn them into awesome insulation for a Habitat for Humanity house. He’s already collected over 300 pairs, but he needs to get to 500 in order to have enough insulation for a single Habitat home.

If you can help, leave Scott a comment with your contact information and he’ll direct you to how to send him your jeans! Me, I’ve got two pairs that can probably go off to be insulation…Scott, drop me a comment here?

  1. The jeans are finally going to Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County today. They’ll be doing a story on the collection on WUSA9.

    Cheers –
    Scott

  2. So……now that’s it’s fall and I’m sure your project is way over…..where can I donate jeans in the DC area? I just cleaned out my sister’s closet and she has enough acid wash to cloth at least twelve 80’s boy bands.

  3. @Jessica –
Yes, my denim drive finished up this past August. If you’d like to see the final results, check this out.

Your comment was funny – I would love to see all the boy band jeans! Alas, I can not collect them right now, but you might call Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County ReStore to see if they will still collect the jeans for next year. Good luck!
