The Final Vote fan ballot closes TODAY at 4. That’s just under an hour and a half from now.

Want to see Nationals third baseman Ryan “Mr. Walk-off” Zimmerman join reliever Matt Capps at the All-Star Game in Anaheim? Place those votes ASAP.

Don’t know why to vote for Zimm? Well — he was a 2009 All-Star, a 2009 Golden Glove winner at third base, a and 2009 Silver Slugger winner. We could go into more detail, but do you really need more at this point?

  1. His performance in 2009 should have no impact on him being a 2010 All-Star. There are statistical justifications for voting for him and it’s cool to root for the local guys, but all your reasons to vote for him are awards he earned last year.

  2. And unfortunately, Phil is right – Votto was one of the biggest snubs in recent memory for an All Star team. I cast some votes for Zimmerman, but I’ll be happy to see Votto get the recognition he deserves.
