The Best Photo of Last’s Nights Nats/Braves Crowd You’ll See

For the first time in what felt like weeks, it wasn’t brutally hot come dusk, making it an absolutely perfect night for baseball. Even though a packed house had to deal with “How the Grinch Stole Strasmas” after Stephen Strasburg was scratched from his start, many stayed around to catch an impressive home performance from the Nationals. Take a look at this picture (bigger size after the jump, and full size here; I highly recommend clicking through to see the detail Christopher caught). It’s a near poster-esque view of last night’s crowd from Nationals Park, and a reminder that baseball is a beautiful thing.

  1. This photo is horrible. Enough with the HDR crap. There are plenty of beautiful colors in the stadium without having to alter the image. Let’s just take good photos and leave the photoshopping for ads.

  2. Incredible photo. I disagree with the post above — this isn’t supposed to be ‘just’ a photo, it a piece of art.

  3. Horrible seems like, well, a huge overstatement, Ansel. I think the photo captures an impressive perspective and rich feel. Re: HDR, if the photographer wants to alter the image to capture the moment the way he likes it, then that’s his prerogative as an artist. If you don’t like it, don’t like it — and don’t use it. But you don’t need to be so harsh in your judgment.

  4. hey are you ansel adams? no? okay, then cool your jets big guy. this is a great shot, who cares if the image was altered. get a life you snob.
