The first year of the Wizards’ Leonsis Era finally has its roadmap as the schedule for the full 2010-2011 NBA season was announced yesterday by the league. With the free agency craziness in the Eastern Conference throughout the last few months, not to mention the miraculous June lottery that gave the Wizards the first pick in the draft, this year stands to be a fairly interesting one down at the Phone Booth.

Most importantly, with some of these matchups and the superstar-to-be in John Wall, it could be a rejuvenating season for the Wizards fan base. Are the playoffs out of the question? Or will Wall be enough to grab one of the last spots?

A few quick dates from the first half of the season to jot down after the jump.

  • October 28th: Season opener @ Orlando (nationally broadcast on TNT)
  • November 2nd: Home opener vs. Philadelphia
  • December 14th: The Wizards get the LA Lakers, defending NBA champions, at the Verizon Center
  • December 18th: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat come to town
  • January 22nd: On the second night of back-to-back home games (Phoenix plays in town the night before) the Wizards square off with the aging Boston Celtics, now with Shaquille O’Neal. The Cs are also back on April 11th for the last home game for the season.

Partial ticket plans go on sale next week, and you can sign up at the Wiz’s site for more information.
