Rebecca J.: I can’t believe it’s the weekend already! I’m not complaining. It’s A-mazing. Friday I’m off to the freshly opened Carmine’s with the WeLoveDC gang to mow on some veal picata, stuffed artichokes and rigatoni country style. Having been to the Carmine’s in NYC, I’ll be ready to roll myself out of there, as their family style servings are of epic proportions. Fortunately, on Saturday I’ll be working off the previous night’s carbo-fest with a WAWSL soccer game and then a stop for some fresh produce at the Georgetown Farmers Market. As College Football kicked off last weekend, with stellar wins by both Missouri and Notre Dame, I’ll be tuned to the second week of match ups. Sunday, a solid sleep in will be in order, after which an egg, cheese and bacon croissan’wich from Breadsoda suits my fancy. No worries heart, I’ll be working that off during my evening footie match.

Kirkles: On Friday, I’ll be hitting up Carmine’s for dinner with some of the WLDC crew followed by a nerdy laser tag night with friends at Ultrazone Laser Tag (I haven’t played laser tag since I was 11.  I hope it’s still awesome). Saturday, I’m going to Mi Tierra Market for some Latin American brunch and then I will spend the entire afternoon watching football.  On Sunday, I’ll go to church and then spend that entire afternoon watching football, as well.  I’m happy football is back.

Rachel: Full-speed ahead into the weekend? Yes please! Friday night I’m going to the Nats-Marlins game with a friend. The later portion of the evening will be spent at The Bullpen playing corn hole and unwinding after a busy week. If I didn’t already have those plans though I’d be heading down to the Rock and Roll Hotel to catch Midnight Spin’s headlining slot at 11:30 that night. I’m not too bummed to miss their Friday set though since they’ll be playing a Saturday afternoon show at The Bullpen after the Nats-Marlins day game. That I’ll be at. Then Sunday, it’s back to Nationals Park for the last game of the homestand followed by a night of Jazz at Blues Alley with Grammy Award winning trumpet player Roy Hargrove. I can hear the sweet, sweet trumpet now and boy oh boy does it sound smooth.

Shannon: It’s a busy weekend for me! Saturday I’ll be volunteering at the Nation’s Tri in the morning, then heading to Adams Mill to participate in the National Day of Service by eating baked goods.  Saturday night I’m heading to my favorite Italian spot, Pasta Mia, for some guilt-free pasta (all in the name of carbo-loading!).  Sunday is the big triathlon day, so look for me swimiming(/being eaten by Potomac River sharks), biking(/crashing), and running(/collapsing in exhaustion).  After that, I’ll be participating in the fourth leg of triathlon: napping.  And if I can pull myself together in time, I’d love to wander through Adams Morgan Day on Sunday afternoon to soak in the awesome multiculturality of my neighborhood.

Brittany: My weekend starts tonight with Tobacco at DC9. Friday, in a statement you will probably never hear from me again, I will be hanging out in Georgetown. If it were not for Fashion’s Night Out, though, I would be at the French Embassy for theirlecture on “The Second Sex” – but either way, afterward, it is BROADS II at Jimmy Valentine’s. Saturday night, I will be heading to a friend’s birthday party in Baltimore. Sunday I may be having a late brunch at a secret underground brunch spot, but I do not know if it is actually going to happen (I guess I should not even say that much) followed by checking out The Drums at the 9:30, so if you won our tickets, come say hi.

Michael: The weekend starts tonight for me with The Charlatans UK show at The Black Cat. I also highly recommend Fucked Up (who killed it at ATP NY last weekend) with Cloud Nothings at R&R Hotel tonight. It seems the agony of conflicting set-times has followed me from the festival. On Saturday night it is all about MIAMI HORROR at U Street Music Hall. For Sunday, I am considering hiring a truckload of day-laborers and treating them to Robert Rodriguez’s mexploitation epic “Machete”.

Don: It’s an arts-heavy weekend for the Whiteside household and much of it revolves around the The Shakespeare Theatre Company. On Saturday the Harman is playing host to the Arts on Foot festival from 11a to 7p. and every hour from 11a to 6p there will be free performances, different every time. On Sunday it’s time for All’s Well That Ends Well to kick off to press. Beyond that it’s generic liver-pickling as I try to forget the disaster this work week has been.

Tiff: Definitely looking forward to getting back out to Great Country Farms to dig potatoes on a non-festival weekend (read: far fewer children having tantrums when it’s time to stop playing in the dirt). Aside from that, I’m sticking close to home. Brunch at Ted’s Bulletin. I’ll be volunteering for my council candidate of choice on Sunday. And possibly even getting my voting done early at Turkey Thicket. It’s a weekend of civic-mindedness.
