It’s no secret by now that the Nationals aren’t going to the post-season this year. The Nationals’ season ends Sunday, October 3 at Citi Field in New York against the Mets, but their final home game of 2010 is this Wednesday night versus the Philadelphia Phillies.

As the sixth season of baseball comes to a close here in Washington, Nationals Park is still bumping with some entertainment and festivities during the final weekend homestand of 2010.

Nationals Park will play host to the Third Annual Gospel Music Fest Concert this Saturday immediately following the 1:05 game against the Atlanta Braves. Praise 104.1 FM Radio Personality Cheryl Jackson is on-tap as the evening’s emcee and Tanya Blount, Shawn McLemore, and Earnest Pugh will perform some of their favorite Gospel tracks.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets for the concert can do so online at the Nationals website. The show will start at 5:45 p.m.

The Nationals are also hosting members of the Ohr Kodesh Congregation at the park this Sunday in celebration of the Jewish Festival of Sukkot. In honor of the holiday, volunteers from the Ohr Kodesh congregation will be constructing the first-ever Sukkah at Nationals Park next to the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation kiosk on the main concourse level of the stadium.

That Sukkah will be open to the public and remain in the ballpark until Tuesday night, September 28.
