Last Chance: Monday brings the Aquabats and RBF

It’s Friday, and all you can think about is the weekend, and frankly, after this week, who can blame you? I mean, DC’s been obsessing about Wal-Mart, the TSA, and the leadership of the House all week long.  Who doesn’t want to stop for a few days, drink some Four Loko with some college students, and spend the weekend engaged in Harry Potter-related activities.  I mean, that’s what I’m dreaming of.

But, before we go and let the weekend subsume our very being, I’ve got a quick PSA about a concert that’s happening Monday night at 9:30 Club.  It’s hard to believe that this year represents fifteen years since probably my favorite record of the 1990s, Reel Big Fish’s Turn the Radio Off, with their single Sell Out.  I think that’s the only of my CDs from that decade that I actually wore out entirely. Anyhow, they’re playing with other ska great The Aquabats.  Tickets are still available, and you can totally wear a big suit and skank it on out on the floor of the 9:30. Me? I wish I could be there, but I’ve got a prior engagement.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go cope with the fact that I am really old.

I live and work in the District of Columbia. I write at We Love DC, a blog I helped start, I work at Technolutionary, a company I helped start, and I’m happy doing both. I enjoy watching baseball, cooking, and gardening. I grow a mean pepper, keep a clean scorebook, and wash the dishes when I’m done. Read Why I Love DC.
