Max: The weather is set to warm up a bit this weekend but I will still be hibernating as much as possible.  I’ll be getting drunkfestive at a holiday party Friday night – hope nobody gets locked in the bathroom again this year!  I’ll be going to the Albus Cavus Gala at The Fridge Saturday night to support an amazing group of local artists and possibly buy some great artwork in their silent auction.  Funds raised will be used to pay for scholarships, supplies, instructors and space rental. Tickets are still available!  On Sunday I’ll be going to see the much anticipated Black Swan which I hear is excellent.  Even if it isn’t, Natalie Portman is super hot and I want to marry her.

John: By the time you read this I will be somewhere in the mountains near Crozet, Virginia on a deer hunt with Locavore Hunter Jack Landers (whose class I attended earlier this year) on a private guided hunt. Most of my weekend will be spent down in Charlottesville, but some of it will be back here. I’ll be longing for some brats and beer at Lyon Hall and doing a bit of Wassailing around in Alexandria on Saturday evening.

Carl: On Friday night I will be getting installed as Worshipful Master of Cherrydale Lodge #42, AF&AM. Interested in Freemasonry? Come on out for the festivities and learn a little about the organization. Saturday morning Beautiful Girlfriend and I will drive down to Raleigh, NC to visit my mother. This is my annual overnight holiday trip to NC, once again stratetgically placed between holidays. The trip will be interesting, though, in that BG and Mother Weaver will meet for the first time. I admit to being a bit nervous about that. It’s weird to have so many firsts in life the second time around, being an old fart and all. If we are lucky it will be warm enough for Mom to break out the lawn darts and homemade wine.

Dave: Nothing too far out of the ordinary for me, at least during the busy holiday party season. I’ll be starting off on Friday with the ol’ company party, followed by wreath laying at Arlington Cemetery the next morning before brunch and ice skating. On Sunday, I’m braving the trek up to College Park with away team colors on as BC comes to Comcast to play the Terps in men’s hoops. Let’s go Eagles!

Patrick: Well, I’ll kick off my weekend off with the Wizards/Knicks game in the Verizon Center- plenty of seats still available! Saturday I will be trying to do some holiday shopping and if I’m lucky I can get it all done in one session. Typically holiday shopping for me involves travel to an outlet mall like Leesburg Corner or Potomac Mills- however I’m open to any suggestions our readers have. I end my weekend with a performance of, “A Girl’s Guide to Washington Politics” over at Woolly Mammoth. I know I’m not a girl nor in need of a guide to Washington politics but it sounds cool enough for me.

Tom: It’s Holiday Party season!  Friday night, I’ll be in Falls Church listening to the dulcet tones of Choralis at their Classical Brass Christmas concert, either preceded or followed by dinner at the very tasty Mad Fox Brewing Company. Their Winter specialty beer is a real delight with light hints of nutmeg and cinnamon amidst a great dark ale. Saturday night we’ll be out and about at our friend’s place in Dupont for their annual holiday party. I’m guessing there may be dinner at Saint-Ex before hand, but we’ll see.  Sunday, I’ll likely be down at Brookland Hardware looking for some Christmas lights and decorations for our house and putting those up before watching the Redskins lose.

Rebecca J.: With College Football season over, the wait for the Bowl Games builds, so I’ll turn my focus to seasonal activities. Saturday I’ll head down to the Downtown Holiday Market to potentially pick up some small, additional Christmas presents.  While downtown, and if it’s not too freezing, I’ll check out the ice skaters at the National Gallery of Art. Sunday, after a solid sleep in and errand running, I’ll head to the National Cathedral to catch The Joy Of Christmas performance featuring the Maret School Concert Choir and featuring the world premiere of a Christmas carol by the renowned composer Bob Chilcott.

Paulo: Having been struck down by the pleurisy on Monday, I’ll be spending the weekend resting my lungs at home. It’s a shame because I really wanted to go see Hide/Seek at the NPG, an interesting look at sexuality and gender in American portraiture even without the ‘controversial’ ants-on-crucifix piece. And of course one could not go through December without checking out the Christmas trees at the Capitol and White House. Maybe the following weekend.

Tiff: In addition to everything Tom said, I’ll be heading out Saturday afternoon to visit a lovely friend whose apartment is convenient to the ZooLights. After some cookies and holiday cheer, we’ll head over to take those in before I depart for the party in Dupont.

Jenn: This Saturday I’m performing with the Chiftitelli student bellydance troupe as part of the amazing Saffron Dance’s Spice of Life gala at the Gonda Theater on Georgetown University’s campus. Productions like these are a fantastic way to introduce you to many different styles of bellydance – Oriental, Tribal, Fusion, Romani – with a chance to see some of our area’s brilliant star soloists as well. I’m proud to be a part of the bellydance community and hope many of you will come out to enjoy what is truly a difficult and beautiful art form.
