It has not been your week, Donovan. First, there’s that whole, “losing streak/Redskins season all but over and everyone’s blaming you” thing. Then, you just want to enjoy a basketball game and these local fans won’t let you be, booing you. The pickle on your crap sandwich? Rex Grossman, according to reports, is going to take your job this weekend. From Comcast’s Kelli Johnson, via SBNation:

“Just learned that Rex Grossman is starting over McNabb Sun in Dallas; I’m told Redskins Lockeroom is divided and guys are extremely upset.”

Interesting strategy, let’s see if it works out for them. I mean, I also scoff because Grossman hasn’t started since 2008, and has a combined stat line in the last two seasons of two games played, seven completions, an interception and a fumble lost on a sack.

We Love DC’s doesn’t condone gambling, but for what it’s worth, the Redskins match against the Cowboys is off of the boards at some Vegas sites and the line was already listing the Cowboys as a touchdown sans extra point favorite. Well, at least I get a chance to use this handy image Tom sent me over IM:

  1. I have to say, as an Eagles fan it was hard to see them trade #5 to the Redskins, but it’s been the absolute right decision. It’s also hard to watch the Redskins tank this hard.
Honestly, I’ve lived in DC long enough to want to like certain local teams, but it’s so incredibly hard to do so when the Nationals, Wizards and Redskins are so awful. The Capitals are even on a seven-game losing streak, and they’re supposed to have the best offense in the NHL!
I would like to someday turn on a local Wizards, Caps or Nats game and root for a DC team, but why bother?
Are there simply too many fans from other cities with teams that are doing better than local ones to ever care about a DC franchise?
