Death, Taxes and Redskins Collapses. Other things you can rely on (at least this season)? The Redskins Cheat Sheet, here to get you through with a quick recap that has just enough ammunition for you to act like you cared come Monday’s morning meetings.

For yesterday’s games, I posted up at the new Buffalo Wild Wings down in Crystal City. Don’t get me wrong: I love a good chain sports bar, but there is an added fun dynamic to watching NFL down here in DC, and it has to do with the fact that there are enough transplants that just about every team seemed to have representation. I mean, it actually looked yesterday like there were more fans of each of the other NFC East rivals than locals wearing burgundy and gold.

Which is why it was weird when you started hearing pockets of excited fans yelling toward the end of the Redskins game, high fives replacing the impending sense of doom that ‘skins fans have risen to all season.

And then, as should have been expected, the Redskins blew it, coming back to tie the game at 30 before letting the Cowboys kick a field goal with little time left. Why did they earn their 9th loss of the season? Let’s find out after the jump.

F*ck It, I’m Throwing Down Field – All things considered, including the exceptionally low expectations, Rex Grossman played decently yesterday. A shade over 50 percent passing with four touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a few two-point conversions. He was far from perfect, but he was capable when it came to getting those late points on the board. In the winning and losing aspect of the game, there is no such thing as a moral victory column, but this was pretty close. Well, except for that last interception.

You Have to Have the Ball to Score – In the first half, it seemed that it was going to be a complete pounding. The Redskins went punt-interception-punt on the first three drives, and then kept the fun going by starting the second half with a fumble that led to a short field for the Cowboys. Three minutes into the third, the scoreboard said 27-7, and warming up the bus felt like a great option.

Barely Noticeable – I think it’s an inclination for ‘skins fans to feel like they had another close win ripped out of their hands. This will all be forgotten about given that all of this comeback fever was happening simultaneously as the two leading teams in the NFC East were locked in their own epic game. It was hard not to switch over and watch what Mike Vick was doing to the Giants, and it’d be hard to try and compare the pain of the Redskins loss with that of New York fans.

Two more weeks left, ladies and gentlemen, for you to get in any cheap shots you want on the 2010 Redskins. Next week: bring your jorts, we’re going to Jacksonville!
