Monday is the MLK Jr. Holiday, traditionally a day of service.  If you haven’t yet made arrangements to volunteer, it’s not too late.  Serve DC has a great project finder that will show you which service projects still need volunteers and which are fully staffed.  Projects that could still use your help include three opportunities in literacy workshops at various DCPS locations, a citizen farmer project and a knit-a-thon with clothing drive to donate to various homeless-related charities.

Be active in your community this Monday, sign up for a project.

I live and work in the District of Columbia. I write at We Love DC, a blog I helped start, I work at Technolutionary, a company I helped start, and I’m happy doing both. I enjoy watching baseball, cooking, and gardening. I grow a mean pepper, keep a clean scorebook, and wash the dishes when I’m done. Read Why I Love DC.
