I love when TV cameras pop in at restaurants for three reasons:

1) The diners who work so hard to get on camera (cute)
2) Parents who try desperately to get their kids to behave (funny)
3) People who refuse to be on camera and tell this to the cameramen over and over (slightly annoying)

Well, this morning cameras rolled into Arlington’s Bayou Bakery.

A recent tweet from Bayou’s Chef David Guas told followers that ABCNews.com would visit on Tuesday and that patrons could watch Guas make barbecue shrimp and the first King Cake of the season.

ABC was filming Chef’s Table with Tanya Steel. The show helps viewers “discover the secrets of top chefs” and “includes recipes from top New York restaurants.” Personally, New York is the first place that comes to my mind when I think of Arlington.

The neighborhood gem opened late last year and serves — as the name so rightly suggests — New Orleans-themed food. Think beignets, pudding, gumbo, and sandwiches like “The Creole Pilgrim” & “French-A-Lotta.”

Guas tells me that he was feeling a bit under the weather, but that he was “fired up” for the filming. The segment will air in about two weeks…until then, you can watch other chef interviews at abcnews.com.  Chef’s Table airs Tuesdays at 12:30pm and Thursdays at 3:30pm and is available on cable, broadband and mobile. Who knows, you might just catch yourself on TV.
