The list of food trucks rolling around DC just keeps on growing. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the new trucks you’ll be seeing around town soon:

BBQ Bus – Scheduled to launch on April 8th, BBQ Bus will serve up barbecue beef, pork and chicken sandwiches. Like many of their food truck brethren, they’ve encountered some mechanical difficulties, but that doesn’t seem to be affecting their launch date or commitment to the ‘cue.

Boriquen Lunchbox – The first Puerto Rican food truck will serve various sandwiches, such as the tripleta with pork, ham and steak. They’ll also have chicken, beef and crab empanadas. Boriquen is set to launch in Spring 2011.

Sabor’a Street – Yes, it’s old news that this truck launched at the end of February. The truck, inspired by Latin American street food, offers arepas with different meat or tofu toppings, choripapas, fried plantains and fried yuca.

Sixth and Rye – Former Top Chef contestant Spike Mendelsohn is getting into the food truck biz with a kosher food truck (via The Feast). The details about the truck, which is a partnership with the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue, are largely up in the air. However, Spike’s sister and spokeswoman, Micheline Mendelsohn, said that they “want the menu to be community driven, so people can email sixthandrye@gmail.com with their suggestions.” Word is the truck will launch at the end of April and the signature item will be a corned beef sandwich.

SOL Mexican Grill – According to Food Truck Fiesta, if Chipotle had a truck it would be SOL Mexican Grill. The flame-covered truck is serving tacos, burritos and burrito bowls. So now you don’t have to walk halfway across the city when you’re craving a burrito of epic proportions.

Sauca Grill – Brought to you by the same people behind Sauca and the Meathead Mobile Eatery, the fourth truck features grilled kabobs made with ground sirloin and lamb marinated in spices. They’re served with a yogurt, cucumber and mint sauce, and you can have it with basmati rice or a lettuce and tomato salad with a lime vinaigrette.

Marissa was born and bred in New Jersey, but moved to DC for undergrad at GWU (Go Colonials, go!), fell in love with the District and learned that there was life and civilization beyond New York City. She loves eating at white-tablecloth-three-forks-at-your-place-setting restaurants, but she’ll also be the first to suggest we scarf down some chili dogs at 2 am. Simply put, she loves all things food. You can also read about why she loves DC. Follow her on Twitter and email her at mbialecki (at) welovedc.com.
