If you commuted on the Red Line this morning, you know exactly how bad things were. With Rockville station closed, and buses bridging the gap amid a bomb threat, getting into town today from the Northwest was a pretty ugly experience full of delays and the smell of hot armpit. Dr. Gridlock has a first-person accounting of the threat, and the news that WMATA and MTPD have detained an individual thought to be involved in the incident on an inbound train first thing this morning.

It’s satisfying to hear that MTPD has detained someone, and you hope that they get the help that they need, or spend some time atoning for their sins. When most of these threats and suspicious packages often go unhandled, it’d good to see one get a quick arrest.

I live and work in the District of Columbia. I write at We Love DC, a blog I helped start, I work at Technolutionary, a company I helped start, and I’m happy doing both. I enjoy watching baseball, cooking, and gardening. I grow a mean pepper, keep a clean scorebook, and wash the dishes when I’m done. Read Why I Love DC.
