Review Policy

As members of the Washington, DC local media (albeit non-traditional ones), We Love DC writers occasionally receive goods or services at no charge to aid in providing coverage of local businesses and other organizations. Because receiving these items enables us to cover a wider variety of local news than we would otherwise be able to accomplish using our own personal budgets, we often choose to accept these offers. While not frequent, the types of things most commonly offered to us (as well as to members of more traditional forms of media) include:

  • Press seats for theatrical/arts performances or other cultural attractions
  • Press passes to conventions and festivals
  • Access to media-only or pre-opening seatings at new restaurants

On the rare occasions when we receive something to review that isn’t typical as described above, we will disclose that in the review.

Our freedom to share our actual opinion is important to us, as is the trust our readers have in our integrity. When we review a performance, product, or service on We Love DC, we strive to deliver an opinion unbiased by any goods or services received. Our opinions are not for sale: Establishments cannot get favorable coverage by We Love DC via monetary or other compensation. Any advertisement, paid or donated, will always be clearly marked as such on our website and emails. Your trust is essential to our success.
