These are the sixteen teams that will be winnowed to four when they play at the Verizon Center (Hey, ESPN, Get the name right!) on the 23rd and 24th of March. Tickets will be nigh on impossible to come by, and scalpers will be prevalent around the Verizon Center for those few days, but if you can get in, you’re guaranteed some local ball.

Locals in the game? You bet. George Mason (11 Seeded), GW (8 Seeded), Georgetown (7 Seeded) but Maryland will be watching from home this year. Winning only 5 of their last 13, this isn’t much of a surprise for Terps fans.

Bring on the March Madness, and look for the Metroblogging DC NCAA Pool in the next day or so, complete with prizes!

I live and work in the District of Columbia. I write at We Love DC, a blog I helped start, I work at Technolutionary, a company I helped start, and I’m happy doing both. I enjoy watching baseball, cooking, and gardening. I grow a mean pepper, keep a clean scorebook, and wash the dishes when I’m done. Read Why I Love DC.
