Bad week to be a perp in DC

It’s Police Week in DC, starting yesterday. Think Fleet Week but without the sissy crisp white uniforms. Among the events happening:

The Candlelight Vigil, 8pm Saturday, at the 400 block of E Street, NW.

The Honor Guard Competition, 8:30am (ack!) Sunday, at John Marshall Plaza (Pennsylvania Ave & 4th Street, NW).

The Emerald Society & Pipe Band March and Service, starts at 6:00pm sharp Sunday from New Jersey Avenue & F Street, NW. No details on the route.

Capping things off will be the 25th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service on the West Front of the United States Capitol at Noon Monday.

Well I used to say something in my profile about not quite being a “tinker, tailor, soldier, or spy” but Tom stole that for our about us page, so I guess I’ll have to find another way to express that I am a man of many interests.

Hmm, guess I just did.

My tastes run the gamut from sophomoric to Shakespeare and in my “professional” life I’ve sold things, served beer, written software, and carried heavy objects… sometimes at the same place. It’s that range of loves and activities that makes it so easy for me to love DC – we’ve got it all.
