Flashback! Airspace Violation!

Damn, I can’t even remember the last time somebody forgot to check their instruments and GPS and somehow flew into the No-Fly Zone around the DC area. Two F-16s diverted the Cessna to the Leesburg airport at 1pm this afternoon after they flew just a little bit into the NFZ that surrounds the area. Apparently, though, there were 346 violations in 2007, which is waaaaay more than I thought there were.

I have a feeling that shooting just one little plane out of the sky would go a long way to making that number a lot closer to zero.

Probably illegal though.
