Dino Hosting “Everything But the Quack” Tonight

One of my favorite places in DC, Dino in Cleveland Park, is doing a ten course tasting menu featuring Duck in every possible configuration tonight and tomorrow. PETA supporters and vegans, it’s probably best if you don’t click through.

They’re running a 10+ course for just $55 per person plus gratuity, and better than that, they’re running no-corkage fee if you want to bring your own vino, or choose from their excellent wine list. For the appetizers and single bits, they’re running with an Italian Duck Banh Mi sandwich, an Ossi di Morto duck confit on the bone, and house made terrine with duck liver, as well as baby purple artichokes flown in from the Santa Monica farmers market, fried in duck fat (which Dean claims is “nature’s Lipitor®.” The mains for the evening are duck raviolo, and duck thigh confit, as well as a duck and mushroom soup with pea shoots and garbanzos. The menu is just astonishingly detailed and sounds fantastic. Get in on this, whether you’re friend or fowl.

The editors regret this terrible pun, but they blame Dean Goldman.

I live and work in the District of Columbia. I write at We Love DC, a blog I helped start, I work at Technolutionary, a company I helped start, and I’m happy doing both. I enjoy watching baseball, cooking, and gardening. I grow a mean pepper, keep a clean scorebook, and wash the dishes when I’m done. Read Why I Love DC.

  1. Hate to be a buzz-kill, but I think they may be sold out – I was told on Friday that I managed to secure the last two spots for tonight (5/24), and they were already sold out for tomorrow (5/25) when the email went out. Not to say you shouldn’t call to check, but don’t get your heart set on it.

  2. Wea hve sold out but we are adding two more diner for the spring…. June 21 and 22 at 7pm. Call the restaurant to reserve… it just two shakes of a duck’s tail. Don’t be a duck’s butt and be left out. You’d have to be quackers to miss it!
