Finally, you can get decent spices in the DC area, as Penzeys has come to Rockville. Now, I know that there are a bunch of you out there saying, “Dude. McCormick. Red tops. In the Baking Section of any supermarket.” Yes, but those are the spices your mom and your grandma used to make their cookies. I’m talking about real, honest to god, cinnamon, curry mixes, chili powders with multiple gradients of scofield ratings, and the best damn oregano I’ve found anywhere in the world. They’re also coming to Falls Church this summer. Now, I don’t have to go to Pittsburgh when I run out of something.
