Our scheduled comedy post for today fell through so I am going to attempt to distract you with the highly advanced technique that cognitive scientists call “Look! Shiny!”
Or in this case, “oooh, fire!” I took the above picture – along with a whole lot more – at the Palace of Wonders on August 15th. That’s Reggie Bugmuncher from Philly’s Olde Town Sideshow. I’ll tell you more about the show and show more of my pictures later, but that’s one of my faves.
Don: Well I used to say something in my profile about not quite being a "tinker, tailor, soldier, or spy" but Tom stole that for our about us page, so I guess I'll have to find another way to express that I am a man of many interests. Hmm, guess I just did. My tastes run the gamut from sophomoric to Shakespeare and in my "professional" life I've sold things, served beer, written software, and carried heavy objects... sometimes at the same place. It's that range of loves and activities that makes it so easy for me to love DC - we've got it all.
XML, or the Extensible Markup Language, is a wonderful data format that can be used for almost anything. On this site, it's being used to syndicate content in what's called "RSS", and that's what you can get here in a variety of feeds. New to news feeds? Read this article from the BBC.

awesome! & great pic, too! a friend of mine used to do that fire trick – it’s incredible to see, especially if you’re buzzed.

Wow. What a shot. Good job. Fire and cleavage. Not that I can’t do without one or the other to make it a great pic.
