We’re past the halfway point for Artomatic 2009 – running 38 days total from May 29th till July 5th, today makes day 20. Have you been yet? Multiple times? I had to miss the opening because of this darned honeymoon obligation but I’m hoping our visiting guest will be interested in going this week.
If it’s anything like last year’s Artomatic it’s so big that it’s hard to see it all. Anyone got a can’t-miss artist to shill?
Don: Well I used to say something in my profile about not quite being a "tinker, tailor, soldier, or spy" but Tom stole that for our about us page, so I guess I'll have to find another way to express that I am a man of many interests. Hmm, guess I just did. My tastes run the gamut from sophomoric to Shakespeare and in my "professional" life I've sold things, served beer, written software, and carried heavy objects... sometimes at the same place. It's that range of loves and activities that makes it so easy for me to love DC - we've got it all.
XML, or the Extensible Markup Language, is a wonderful data format that can be used for almost anything. On this site, it's being used to syndicate content in what's called "RSS", and that's what you can get here in a variety of feeds. New to news feeds? Read this article from the BBC.

Hmm, I should get over there again. I went on opening night but I only saw three of the nine floors. But those floors rocked!

I’ve gotta go back there myself. I only checked out floors 8 & 9 on opening night and saw a few interesting installments.

Artomatic…
Thanks to the great folks at WeLoveDC I went to check out Artomatic last night with Lois Lane and my little sister. At nine, she enjoyed the peeps the most, but got a kick out of a lot of the artwork and left comments for the artists she found interest…
