Reunited: Government Issue

One of DC’s most diverse sounding and revered punk bands of the 80’s, Government Issue, is getting their final line-up back together again to play a benefit show at the Black Cat on December 11th. The benefit is to raise funds for DJ Stereofaith, a mainstay on the DC alternative-dance night scene with his parties “Sorted” and “Feedback”, who had emergency brain surgery earlier this summer.

Government Issue are no strangers to benefit reunions. In 2007, GI played a fantastic show to help their long-time lead singer John Stabb pay his medical bills after a viscious mugging. For this show the line-up will feature John Stabb, Tom Lyle, J. Robbins, Pete Moffett. Tickets are onsale now through the Black Cat’s website.

Michael splits his free time between defending the little guy and championing the underdog. He has been haunting the concert halls, dive bars, and greasy spoons of DC for the last 16 years. His interests include live rock music, researching obscure military/political conflicts, and good hamburgers. He is a friendly grump, has wisdom beyond his years, and is on a life-long quest to attain music nirvana. Follow him on Twitter if you dare!
