CANCELED: Linkin Park @ Verizon Center, Tonight!

Well I’m sure this news is going to disappoint a lot of people…

“Linkin Park has been forced to cancel their February 10th show in Washington DC at the Verizon Center. Lead vocalist Chester Bennington is ill and under doctor’s orders to refrain from performing. The band sincerely regrets this unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase beginning February 11th.”

Michael splits his free time between defending the little guy and championing the underdog. He has been haunting the concert halls, dive bars, and greasy spoons of DC for the last 16 years. His interests include live rock music, researching obscure military/political conflicts, and good hamburgers. He is a friendly grump, has wisdom beyond his years, and is on a life-long quest to attain music nirvana. Follow him on Twitter if you dare!

  1. So my two thoughts when I heard this on the radio:

    1. Who in the world was really going to this show?
    2. Do you get the service charges refunded, or did TicketFly/TicketMaster/EvilTicketPlaceOfTheDay just really score big?

I think you should investigate! Oh, but that may mean talking to people who were going to the Linkin Park concert. That may be….never mind, I’m going to shut my mouth now.

  3. Ha! I was wondering the same things David. Just passing the info along. If I get an answer about the service fees I’ll update the post. Odds are that they keep them.

  4. Hello David & Michael,

I actually have a friend who works with the show, and I was going to meet up with him for dinner tonight February 10th – The show was cancelled because the lead singer is actually sick.

Hope this quells the rumors being started. I hope Chester will be well soon.
