We at We Love DC are no stranger to ticket giveaways! But today we have a very unique opportunity with a pair of general admission tickets to a respected music festival that takes place not too far away from our fair city.

We are giving away a pair of tickets to Moogfest in Asheville, NC, on Wednesday, April 23 through Sunday, April 27.

Moogfest 2014 celebrates the synthesizer, and the slate of headliners scheduled to appear this year cross genres and boundaries as groundbreaking artists. The five-day festival features three performances by German pioneers Kraftwerk as well as a dance party featuring disco legend Nile Rodgers and his band CHIC.

You may recall Rodgers recently collaborated with Daft Punk on their Grammy-winning album, Random Access Memories, as did Giorgio Moroder, who will be on hand as a DJ and a guest lecturer. Performance artist Laurie Anderson will present her solo show, “The Language of the Future.”

In addition to these strong headliners and dozens upon dozens of other bands, Moogfest only yesterday announced the addition of the Pet Shop Boys, M.I.A., Flying Lotus and Dillon Francis to the lineup!

Asheville, where synth inventor Bob Moog spent the last 30 years of his life, has been home to Moogfest since 2010. The pleasantly idyllic metropolis hosts Moogfest across a number of venues, including The Orange Peel, one of the most famous concert venues in the country. If you’re up for a road trip, Asheville is an easy seven-hour drive from DC.

For your chance to win these tickets, simply leave a comment on this post using a valid email address between 9am and 5pm today. Feel free to leave any comment, but perhaps tell us what Moogfest artist you would most like to see! One entry per email address, please. Tickets for this show are also available through Ticketmaster.

For the rules of this giveaway…

Comments will be closed at 5pm and a winner will be randomly selected. The winner will be notified by email. The winner must respond to our email within 24 hours or they will forfeit their tickets and we will pick another winner.

The tickets must be claimed with a valid ID. The winner must be old enough to attend the specific concert or must have a parent’s permission to enter if he/she is under 18 years old.

  1. I cannot even begin to describe how grateful I would be for the opportunity to go to Moogfest. To see Kraftwerk live would be an absolute dream come true. Thank you for this opportunity!!

  2. For me it’s Chic with Nile Rodgers! Nile is such an amazingly talented musician who never really got the credit he deserved. With his reemergence into the spotlight through Daft Punk, and Chic touring some dates, I can’t wait to see the man in person.

  3. There is no one artist that I can say I would like to see more than the other. That is the beauty of this festival you can experience every genre of music all in one awesome place! I would love to win a pair of tickets and be able to participate in this experience. Thank you for having this contest and giving two people an opportunity to attend!

  4. I would love to see a Les Sins set live because I love Toro Y Moi and Chaz Bundick is one of my favorite musicians.

  5. Holy crap I want to see Flying Lotus sooo badly! I missed him last time he was at the Orange Peel and I’ve been waiting for him to come back!

  6. This line-up is jaw-dropping. Kraftwerk absolutely defined electronic music, and I haven’t seen Green Velvet or Adult since I moved out of the Detroit area. I was so upset that I missed Giorgio when he played in New York as part of the RBMA, and would love the chance to hear him!

  7. I’ve been wanting to see M.I.A. live since she was featured on the soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire…to see her at Moogfest would be a dream come true!!!

  8. This lineup is so awesome it’s hard to pick one artist.

Kraftwerk & Moderat are most epic for me.

  9. I definitely want to see Art Department most because I missed them at DEMF last year while I was on a mystical adventure…but the entire line-up is bomb so it’ll be great for my ADHD because it won’t matter what stage I’m at the entire fest!

  10. Would love to see Kraftwerk and many others, and the combo of this festival and the Asheville setting should be interesting and fun.

  11. DAN DEACON DOING TWO SETS!!! Kratfwerk WolfEyes Blackdice Avey Tare & all those synthy symposiums!

  12. It has always been an absolute dream to see kraftwerk live, especially with the 3D visuals.

  13. I was excited for a bunch of artists on the lineup but adding Pet Shop Boys has really put it over the top for me.

  14. as a native detroiter and huge supporter of Movement and Paxahau, I am super excited to see what the team has in store for moog this year with the Paxahau collaboration! I also have been dying to see moderat and was bummed that I wasn’t able to make it to one of the few shows they’ve already played in the US. super geeked to come down to Asheville for this! thanks for the contest!

  15. I would love to see that Bradford Cox collab, not to mention Moderat, Moroder, Yacht, Com Truise and others!

  16. Even though I am not sure exactly who I am seeing, or exactly what they are doing (if anything) up on stage, I would still love to catch the Kraftwerk show.

  17. I couldn’t pick just one artist I am most excited to see at Moog, but that’s the best part about it! However I am stoked to see Kaystranada…I have been listening to him for years and never thought I’d get the chance to see his music live!

  18. Honestly, seeing Lapalux would be my dream artist to see at Moogfest. He may be in smaller print on the flyer, but that means nothing when it comes to real talent. I already respect the Moogfest coordinators enough to bring such amazing acts, but Lapalux did it for me. He’s my favorite producer whose music has really guided some of my greatest life choices. Being able to see him at this awesome festival would be a dream come true. Moogfest = Heaven!

  19. I would love to see Kraftwerk! I just moved from Germany to Asheville. I love this place! And I have never seen Kraftwerk live – this would be a dream come true!
