Melissa Doniger has been in the DC area long enough to remember arguing about the 1968 presidential election on the school playground in first grade, and she's argued about almost every election since. She has worked in law, politics, government, and education, among other fields. Melissa is a liver transplant recipient and volunteers for the United Network for Organ Sharing. She has spoken about transplantation, donation, and the importance of discussing these issues with family members. She loves American history and is looking into the requirements to be certified as an official history nut. She lives just slightly outside the Beltway with Alvin and Simon, rescued tabbicos, who generously allow her use of a limited amount of sleeping space and the computer.
