As a way to say thanks to our loyal readers, We Love DC will be giving away a pair of tickets to a 9:30 Club concert to one lucky reader each week. Check back here every Wednesday morning at 9am to find out what tickets we’re giving away and leave a comment for your chance to be the lucky winner!
The reunited, reinvigorated, UK New Wave sensation Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark are performing in the United States for the first time since 1988! Tune in to We Love DC next week for our great interview with OMD’s founder Andy McCluskey. In the meantime, we have a pair of tickets to their show at 9:30 Club, on Thursday 3/10, up for grabs!
For your chance to win these tickets simply leave a comment on this post using a valid email address between 9am and 4pm today. One entry per email address, please. If today doesn’t turn out to be your lucky day, check back here each Wednesday for a chance to win tickets to other great concerts. Tickets for this concert are available on Ticketfly.
For the rules of this giveaway…
Comments will be closed at 4pm and a winner will be randomly selected. The winner will be notified by email. The winner must respond to our email within 24 hours or they will forfeit their tickets and we will pick another winner.
Tickets will be available to the winner at the 9:30 Club Guest List window one hour before doors open on the night of the concert. The tickets must be claimed with a valid ID. The winner must be old enough to attend the specific concert or must have a parent’s permission to enter if he/she is under 18 years old.
If you don’t pick me, I will hire someone to follow you around while singing “Tesla Girls”!
I hope I win for my birthday!
please please please play “Almost.” I’ll just die if they don’t!
I need to win because If You Leave was supposed to be the last song at our wedding but my husband’s uncle bribed the DJ to play Donna Summer’s Last Dance instead. I will forever be damaged from that event and the only cure is to see OMD at 9:30!
I often play my cello in the dark.
I believe your tweet indicated you have some tickets for me? :)
Hopefully I’ll win!
Can’t wait! Hope I win!
This show would be so much fun! Hope I win!
I should *so* win because I’m a Scouse in DC, so it’ll make me feel like I’m at home, listening to them talk.
I’d also like to win, if’n you’d be so inclined as to let me.
pick me :)
In May of 1988, in the days before cell phones, I listened to OMD from outside the entrance at Merriweather while waiting for a friend who was at the other entrance. They sounded great but I want to see them this time up close at the 9:30 Club.
that would be a fun blast from the past show. thanks we love dc.
I have a fondness for OMD because “If You Leave” closed out my favorite movie “Pretty in Pink.”
How cool that they are touring! Love these giveaways (and the blog, too).
I would LOVE to see OMD. A band that reminds me of my early days working at Commander Salamander in Georgetown in the early 80’s.
I would love to hear them play “If You Leave” live.
OMG! It’s OMD!
Thanks for the weekly giveaways :)
I last saw them opening for Thompson Twins in West Palm Beach, Florida in the 80s – would love to see them again now!
Followed them in the 80’s but never saw them live. Hint hint.
I’ve never heard of them but that is probably the coolest name for a band I’ve ever heard so I would be thrilled to go see them!
Turn to Stone is my ringtone. Need I say more?
I will be crossing every ocean for the sake of Locomotion if you Call My Name for a pair of tickets to O.M.D. at the 9:30 Club.
would be great to go.
OMD eeeeek please pick me!!!!
Hi. I’d love to get these tickets. My girlfriend will like me more.
Last time I was at 9:30 I was on the other side looking out. It would be great to be in the audience again.
I need more 80s music in my life. As a child born in that era, I’ve been very negligent of it’s music.
Please pick me!
I’m glad the criterion is “random” and not “clever” – I’d really like to win!
OMD … OMG
fingers and toes crossed… pick me!
Many will enter
I WILL WIN.
for once, please!
One of my favorite 80s bands and I’ve never seen them live. Excited that they’re back!
Pick me, I’m a huge fan!
