The Real World: DC, It’s Real

Oh it’s coming! That’s right, it is now said to be likely that DC will be home to the latest and possibly greatest season of The Real World. (I mean, come on, Brooklyn was a bit of a bust. ) The production company of the show, Bunim-Murray, is seeking a number of production assistants in DC who must “be willing to get releases signed by people appearing on camera and locations.” This long-clamored for arrival of the original reality TV show, now in its 23rd season, comes shortly after Bravos announcement that its next installment of the “Real” Housewives will take place in DC as well. Where will The Real World: DC inhabitants reside? Thoughts?

They’ll definitely live in Mount Pleasant. Calm, a couple of sweet neighborhood bars, cheap housing… makes for great tv. wait. no.
they’ll be in “east dupont” or shaw/cardozo near U st.

I think U street, obviously, but if not, Capitol Hill.

I would love to see a RW-tricked out town house on Cap Hill. How much you wanna bet they frequent The H St. Country Club?

just watch, they’ll probably put it in NOVA and pretend it’s DC.

Brooklyn was not a bust! It was actually one of the better seasons in recent memory. Though I’m still wondering if MTV had something to do with Ryan, the Iraq vet, getting called back to duty…
Regardless, still infinitely better than Real World: Philly, where they had nothing to do but go to the Betsy Ross house.

I’d put money on Adams Morgan.

There was a huge buzz in Denver about the season there a few years ago… by the time it ended, most people around town weren’t sure if it was still going even. Pretty lame.

Great, just great…

Dear Lord, please don’t allow RW to pollute U street! Amen.
If this does happen, I’m pretty sure it won’t be until 2010. Wikipedia (the Oracle) says that the next season is being filmed in Cancun.

Oh, and I predict that they’ll end up in Geogetown.

oh dear god, GEORGETOWN? I mean, not super unlikely, but just plain gross.

Trinidad. Totally Trinidad.

Please let the house be in Naylor Gardens or Anacostia. Or Trinidad…

It will be the most boring season ever. City filled with nerds who work there and then commute back to their suburban cages in Vienna and Fairfax.

My guess is Adams Morgan – at this point, it seems that the main requirement for a Real World location is immediate proximity to as many skanky bars as possible. Then again, they could go the other way and try to do upscale preppy DC by putting them in Georgetown or the Hill. Personally I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a Petworth group house. :)

where is the link to apply as production assistant?

Years ago there was a big rumor mill going about a Real World season in D.C. I think the deal then was that MTV had bought a house in Adams Morgan that was, supposedly, going to be the dwelling/studio, but that things fell apart because MTV wanted to set the kids up with some kind of job on the Hill but nobody would have them. (this was probably all lies, I should point out)
