Craigslist is a great place to find a missed connection or an up-and-coming Switchfoot cover band. For the Associated Press, that’s also one way they’ll be seeking out a new DC Bureau Chief. Think you have what it takes to run a wire satellite office? The requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess superior leadership skills, including the proven ability to direct and motivate a large news staff. Applicants should have experience supervising and driving major stories and projects. Candidates must have demonstrated success working closely with other senior managers to form a strong, empowered leadership team. Strong news judgment and organizational skills are essential, along with an ability to conceive and execute sophisticated enterprise stories. Success in multiple formats a major plus as is a demonstrated sophistication in how the federal government and the federal city of Washington operate. Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language. Authorization to work in the U.S. will be mandatory. Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Have what it takes?
