More Neighborhood Festivals This Weekend

Two weekends ago we celebrated in Adams Morgan, last weekend it was H Street, and this Saturday we’ve got three more great street festivals: Barracks Row, 17th Street in Dupont, and Clarendon.

Head down to Capitol Hill on Saturday from 11 AM to 5 PM for the Barracks Row Fall Festival.  There will be lots to enjoy here: classic cars, a military chef cooking competition, tours of the barracks, a performance by the Trapeze School of New York, and lots of good food and music.  They still need volunteers too, so sign up if you’re so inclined.

In the Dupont area, there’s the 17th Street Festival from 2 to 6 PM.  This festival will celebrate the final stages of the 17th Street Streetscape Project with live music, artist vendors, an auction tent, and raffles throughout the day.  There will also be special activities for kids and pets.

Saturday is also Clarendon Day from 11 AM to 5 PM.  Start off the day with a 10K or 5K at the Clarendon Day Run, then head over for lots of fantastic food, entertaining live music, a wide selection of vendors, and plenty of family fun.

Shannon grew up in the greater DC area/Maryland suburbs, went to Virginia for college and grad school (go Hoos!), and settled in DC in 2006. She’s an urban planner who loves transit (why yes, that is her dressed as a Metro pylon for Halloween), cities, and all things DC. Email her at Shannon (at) WeLoveDC.com!
